Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before heading to the water.
⚠️ Guests must be age 6+ and at least 46″ tall to participate. No exceptions — all participants measured at check-in, in bare feet.
⚠️ Complete your waiver before arriving. After booking, you’ll receive a waiver link via email and text message. Every participant needs a signed waiver on file before check-in. Waivers are not saved between visits.
Before You Visit
What are the age and height requirements?
All participants must be age 6 or older AND at least 46″ tall. There are no exceptions — every participant is measured at check-in, in bare feet. Please measure at home (shoes off) before booking to avoid a wasted trip.
Why the height requirement?
The park’s features are designed for safe use at a minimum height. Being tall enough to navigate the inflatables, reach handholds, and climb back onto platforms is essential for participant safety. The 46″ minimum ensures every guest can confidently enjoy the park.
Should I book 1 hour or 2 hours?
The park is more physical than it looks. One hour is a serious workout. Two hours is a full-on endurance session. If it’s your first visit, 1 hour is plenty for most guests. Athletes, teens, and bigger groups tend to get more out of 2 hours.
What should I bring?
A swimsuit, towel, sunscreen (reef-safe is appreciated), a water bottle, and a change of clothes. Life jackets are provided and required. Lockable storage is not available — leave valuables at home or in your car.
What should I wear?
A swimsuit you can move in. No loose jewelry, no sharp zippers, no glasses without a strap. Goggles are allowed. Water shoes are optional.
Can I bring food or drinks?
No outside food or drinks are permitted on site. We do not sell food or drinks either. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes within a short walk.
How much does it cost?
$40 per person for 1 hour. $55 per person for 2 hours. Group discounts start at 10 guests. See our Pricing page for full details.
Do you accept cash?
No. We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and tap-to-pay.
Why are your available times so random?
We’re tide dependent. The bay water level changes throughout the day, and our operating hours shift to match safe conditions. Check the schedule on our booking page for the most current available sessions.
Booking & Reservations
Do I need a reservation?
Yes, reservations are strongly recommended. Walk-ups are accepted only if space is available, but walk-ups must wait until the next session’s start time to enter the water.
How do I book?
Book online through our Book Now page.
How early should I arrive?
At least 30 minutes before your scheduled start time. Parking, check-in, height verification, and life jacket fitting all take time. We cannot extend sessions for late arrivals.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes — waivers must be completed BEFORE you arrive, not at check-in. When you book, you’ll receive a waiver link via email and text. Complete it for every participant before arrival. Waivers must be completed for every visit — they are not saved or rolled over. For minors, a parent or legal guardian must sign.
What’s your cancellation policy?
- 5+ days out: Full refund
- 48 hours to 5 days out: Full credit for a future session
- Within 48 hours: No refund or credit
What happens if the park closes due to weather?
If we close before or during your reservation, you’ll automatically receive a credit to rebook. We only close indefinitely for thunder and lightning.
Safety & Rules
Are there lifeguards on duty?
Yes. Certified lifeguards are on duty any time the park is open. Safety is our top priority.
Are life jackets required?
Yes. Life jackets are provided and required for every participant, every session. No exceptions.
Do spectators need life jackets?
All children age 12 and under are required to wear a life jacket while on the dock, even as spectators.
Can non-swimmers participate?
Yes, with the proper life jacket and an understanding that they must be comfortable in water. The park is in open bay water, not a pool. If your child is nervous in water, we recommend a 1-hour session.
How deep is the water?
Depth varies throughout the park. In most areas, you will not be able to touch the bottom. This is why life jackets are mandatory.
Are there animals in the water?
The park is set in open bay water — you may see fish, crabs, or other typical back bay wildlife.
What’s the water temperature?
It varies by season. Expect NJ back bay temps — refreshing in early summer, warming up through July and August.
What if someone gets tired?
There are multiple rest platforms throughout the park. Lifeguards are always watching. Anyone who needs a break can signal a lifeguard or swim to the nearest platform.
What’s your weather policy?
We close immediately for thunder and lightning. Other weather decisions are judgment calls by our team. If we close during your reservation, you’ll receive an automatic credit.
At the Park
Where do I park?
No on-site parking lot. Paid street parking is available out front, with free street parking in surrounding blocks. Allow at least 30 minutes to park and check in.
Where is the park located?
9501 Amherst Avenue, Margate City, NJ 08402.
Are there bathrooms and changing rooms?
Yes. Bathrooms and changing rooms are on site. No traditional locker rooms. Cubbies are available but not lockable — leave valuables at home or in your car.
Are there showers?
Two outdoor rinse showers. Not enclosed — for a quick rinse before you leave.
Can spectators come watch?
Yes, and it’s free. Our dock design lets spectators walk the perimeter. Shaded seating is available first come, first served. Children 12 and under need a life jacket on the dock even as spectators.
Can I bring a stroller, baby carrier, or an infant?
Infants and young children are welcome as spectators, but we strongly recommend leaving very young children at home or having a caregiver stay with them on the public boardwalk outside the park. The park is fully visible from the boardwalk.
For safety reasons, no strollers or baby carriers of any kind are permitted on the docks or in the spectator area. The docks can be slippery and crowded, and mobility is essential for everyone’s safety. Strollers can be left on the public boardwalk outside the park.
Children 12 and under who are on the dock (even as spectators) must wear a life jacket.

Can I join in once I arrive?
Yes, if we have space. Check with the front desk on arrival or between sessions. Same height/age rules apply, and you’ll need to complete a waiver.
How long is a session?
Either 1 hour or 2 hours, depending on what you book. Sessions start at your reservation time — arrive early.
Can I extend my session?
Only if space is available. Ask at check-in.

Island Water Sports
What is Island Water Sports?
Our sister shop in Stone Harbor, NJ, run by the same family. Island Water Sports has been in business since 1988 and offers private boat charters, tubing, wakeboarding, water skiing, kayaks, paddleboards, and a smaller inflatable park.
Is it the same as Island Aqua Park?
No — different location, different experience. IAP is the inflatable water park in Margate. IWS is boat-based watersports in Stone Harbor. Same family owns both.
